March is national Kidney month, as part of this celebration of kidney health, the second Thursday of the month is declared “World Kidney Day.” A world-wide initiative aimed at raising awareness of the importance of our kidneys. A few ways that we celebrate World Kidney Day in Indiana include public educational campaigns, wearing the color ORANGE, and lighting Hoosier landmarks ORANGE in honor of those affected by kidney disease.
This year, World Kidney Day will be on March 11, 2021 and the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana is ready to celebrate! The NKFI is hosting the World Kidney Day Challenge, an educational series on living well with kidney disease. This is a five-day virtual Facebook event that will feature educational videos and offer kidney patients and allies a way to educate themselves and engage with the kidney community.
From Monday, March 8 through Friday, March 11–World Kidney Day– join us on Facebook at 12:00 EST to watch, participate, and win prizes! Be sure to join us on Day 5, March 12th, for a special prize drawing!
